EMPLOYEES STATE INSURANCE CORPORATION (ESIC) SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICERS (SSO) / MANAGER GRADE-II / SUPERINTENDENT RECRUITMENT EXAM

The promulgation of Employees State Insurance Act, 1948(ESI Act), by the Parliament was the first major legislation on social Security for workers in independent India. The ESI Act 1948 encompasses certain health related eventualities that the workers are generally exposed to; such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent disablement, Occupational disease or death due to employment injury, resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity-total or partial.

ONLINE Applications (through the website of ESIC at www.esic.nic.in/) are invited for filling up the post of Social Security Officer / Manager Gr-II / Superintendent on regular basis by Direct Recruitment in ESIC.

Eligibility Criteria FOR ESIC SSO : 

A) Nationality / Citizenship : 

A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. 

Note: The application of a candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

B) Educational Qualification FOR ESIC SSO :

1. A degree of a recognized University (Preference will be given to the graduates in Commerce/Law/Management).

2. Working knowledge of computer including use of office suites and database.

Experience (Desirable ) :

Three years service in Government Organization or Corporation or Government Undertaking or Local Body or Scheduled Bank etc.

C) Age –(as on 12-04-2022) FOR ESIC SSO : 

Minimum Age : 21 Years

Maximum Age : 27 years

Upper age limit is relaxable for ESIC Employees, Government Servants and persons belonging to reserved categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex‐Servicemen & other categories of persons in accordance with the instructions and orders issued from time to time.

SCALE OF PAY FOR ESIC SSO : Pay Level – 7 of Pay matrix (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400) as per 7th Central Pay Commission.

In addition to Pay they will also be eligible for DA, HRA and Transport Allowance and other allowances as per rules in force from time to time.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION :
Scheme of Examination for the post of SSO is proposed as under

Examinations will be held in three phases
Phase-I Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
The Paper will consist tests of
i. English Language
ii. Reasoning Ability
iii. Quantitative Aptitude     
Phase-II Main Examination (Objective Type)
The Paper will consist tests of
i.   Reasoning/ Intelligence
ii.  General/ Economy/ Financial/ Insurance Awareness
iii. English Language
iv. Quantitative Aptitude
Phase III - Computer Skill Test & Descriptive Test

CENTRE OF EXAMINATION :

• While applying online application, candidate must select the centre in the application form in which he/she desires to take the exam.
• The examination will be conducted online in venues given in the respective call letters. 
• No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate including SC/ST candidates for appearing in the examinations.

Application Fee FOR ESIC SSO : 

SC/ST/PWD/ ESIC Employees, Female Candidates & Ex Servicemen :  Rs.250

This fee of  Rs.  250/- shall  be refunded duly deducting Bank  Charges as applicable, on appearing of the candidate in the Part-I Written Examination.

All other categories : Rs.500 

MODE OF PAYMENT (ONLINE MODE) : The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. 

Female  candidates, Departmental Candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled  Caste, Scheduled  Tribe, Person with Disabilities (PWDs) and Ex-serviceman should provide the details of beneficiary account in which they would like to receive the refund viz. Beneficiary Name, Bank Name, Account Number and IFSC Code etc.
